eM Client IMAP Email Setup on iPhone

  1. Download eM Client: Install eM Client from the App Store. Requires iOS 15.0 or later.
  2. Open eM Client: Launch the app. The New Account window appears if no accounts are set up. Otherwise, tap Menu (top-left) > Add Account.
  3. Automatic Setup:
    • Enter your full email address.
    • Tap Start.
    • Enter your password and follow prompts.
  4. Manual IMAP Setup (if automatic fails or for custom providers):
    • Tap Mail > Other > IMAP.
    • Incoming Server:
      • Server: Enter mail.afternorth.com
      • Port: 993 (SSL)
      • Username: Full email address.
      • Password: Email password.
    • Outgoing Server (SMTP):
      • Server: Enter mail.afternorth.com
      • Port: 465 (SSL/TLS)
      • Username: Full email address.
      • Password: Same as above.
    • Tap Next.
  5. Test Settings: eM Client verifies settings. If errors occur, check details or tap Ignore to proceed and adjust later.
  6. Account Details:
    • Your Name: Name shown on sent emails.
    • Account Name: Label for the account (e.g., “Work Email”).
    • Tap Next.
  7. Encryption Option: Choose Continue without encryption (refers to PGP, not server security). Tap Next.
  8. Finish: Select Download messages for offline access (recommended). Tap Finish.
  9. Adjust Settings (Optional): Go to Menu > Accounts, select the account, and verify:
    • IMAP: Port 993 (SSL)
    • SMTP: Port 465 (SSL)
    • Save changes.
